Congratulations on your loving relationship!

So the great moment has happened. You both have decided on a life long journey of love. This parish community congratulates you and your families on this news. We hope you will choose this faith community to celebrate your great day and future life together. In choosing us you are asking God to bless your commitment to each other. This is called the Sacrament of Marriage. The sacrament is a pledge by God to seal your love. This seal, strengthens your love and commitment in a wonderful and graceful way.

If this is for you, please contact our Parish Office at 01 2351416. We advise you to check with our office before you make any arrangements with hotels etc.  We ask you to give us six months notice of your intention to celebrate your marriage in our parish.

  • Civil Registration
It is your responsibility to Register your Marriage with the Civil Authorities. Both the Church and Civil Authorities require 3 months notice of your intention to marry. For more information on Civil Registration go to: www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/marriagesinireland

  • Documentation
All documents, including Long Baptism Certificate, must be written within the 6 month period prior to the wedding date.

    1. Baptism Certificate from the Church you were baptised in.

    2. Confirmation Certificate from the Church you were Confirmed in.
(If you were Baptised and Confirmed in the same Church, the Baptism Cert will also provide the date of Confirmation)

    3. Letter(s) of Freedom
(If you lived in any parish for more than 6 months over the age of 18 you will need a Letter of Freedom from that parish. This can be a problem if someone has lived abroad or in many places. If this is so you can go to a Solicitor and make a sworn Civil Affidavit in place of all Letters of Freedom)

    4. Pre-Nuptial Enquiry Form
You will need to make an appointment with your priest to fill out this form. This form may also be used as your Letter of Freedom from your home parish.

  • Marriage Preparation Course
As you have chosen to be married in the Catholic Church you are required to prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage. It is the recommendation of the Church that you attend a Pre-Marriage Course. You can get more information on courses from ACCORD Dublin. You can attend one of these courses at any time before the Wedding date. Marriage Preparation in the Catholic Church is mandatory!

  • Planning the Ceremony
Ask your priest to help you with the ceremony, choosing readings, vows, etc.

  • Cost for Church Wedding is €250
This is to be paid one week in advance of the Wedding Ceremony. We look forward to celebrating this great event with you both. If you need more information please contact our Parish Office at 01 2351416.
